    Portable GPS placement

The previous thread on buying a GPS got me to wondering. What is the best place/method you have found to mount it? We have a three year old Magellan that we use in several cars. Her name is Wrong Way Wilma. This is because a few times we have been able to fool her, but she is almost always right. We even take her on vacation and use her in rental cars.

Anyway, since we switch cars with her, I finally mounted a couple tabs of the hook side of Velcro to her backside, and put the opposite, fuzzy sides of Velcro on the dash of the cars. My pickup has a dash pad and Wilma just hangs out anywhere on it.

What methods have you come up with??

Rick....I bought a weighted bean bag that has a rubber anti-skid bottom and a smooth plastic surface on top. My GPS came with a rubber suction cup holder. I put the bean bag on the console of my wife's Accord or my Pilot.........Attach the suction cupped holder and snap the GPS into the holder. Works great. I have at times also placed the bean bag on dash of the car I'm driving.
