    Question Bosch/Skil Battery Compatibility

Do any of you know if the Bosch and Skil cordless drill batteries are interchangeable?

I don't mean the new sliding Skil batteries; I am referring to the ones that look just like the Bosch, except for a different color.

If they are mechanically interchangeable and are the same voltage, I'd bet pretty strongly that they're electrically interchangeable. The reason for this bet is that inside all tool battery packs are battery cells. There are only a few sizes of cells. The difference between, say, a 9.6 volt pack and a 14.4 is that the 14.4 has a couple more cells. If the external dimensions of the packs are the same, and they're the same voltage, they probably have the same number and size of cells inside.
