    Won "First" Prize

We had our monthly woodturners meeting tonight and everyone brought a bowl made in the last 30 days to enter in a contest. Everyone voted and I was shocked to win 1st place. I won a $10.00 gift card form Craft supplies. The picture doesn't do it justice. The lid is not as big as it looks in the picture. There is alot of great turners there and I didn't think mine was any better than anyone elses. It may not be much but it's like winning the lottery to me.

And so it begins... Congrats on your winning! Recognition for what you turn is always appreciated but especially when given by other turners!

Donny, I remember this one, as well - striking piece with the spalting. Wasn't this the one where there was a possible remake of the lid??

Yeah, some people here wasn't good with the size of the lid but in reality it isn't that big. Turners at the meeting went crazy over the lid. I guess it can go either way. Now with next months meeting we are looking for the ugliest bowl. I'll have to think on that one. How do you make an ugly bowl?
