    Board Buddies

I bought a set of Board Buddies and I was wondering who is using them and any pics of how you mounted them would be appreciated. I have Jet cabinet saw and an Exacta Fence. Looking for mounting options.

    Thanks Tom

Look at a copy of Jim Tolpin's Tablesaw Magic for a great system for mounting things to the top of a Biesemeyer style fence. That's how my wheel system gets mounted in the rare occasion I use it. (Sheet goods only).

I don't have any pictures of it, but I have the shopfox style fence on my Grizzly 12" TS--basically 2 aluminum extrusions sandwiching a steel box beam.

The aluminum extrusions are about 3/4" taller than the boxbeam creating a "channel" of sorts so I just screwed a tight fitting piece of FAS Curly Cherry down the "channel" and screw the board buddies to that. When the screw holes get to wallowed out, I'll burn the Cherry and maybe replace it with a piece of crotch Walnut.

You're gonna love them once you figure out how to set them up.

I use them ...Love them..and feel 100% safe even cutting short boards. For ripping and crosscts use only 1 behind the blade. Fot dados, rabbets etc...use 2 , one in front and behind, For me they are safer than a splitter and I have been saying that on SMC for a long time. I have been using them for about 8 years.

I tried them on the table saw and hated them. They do the job they were designed for...but most of the time they were just in my way.

I did find a place I really like them right here.

Took mine off long ago. I rip a lot of different width material. They were almost always in the way.
