Thread: 60 gal compressor shipped on it's side, should I buy?

    Because the exhaust valve will open when there is pressure in the cylinder, then you can't get hydraulic lock like you can in a 4 stroke motor. Spin the pump by hand, and if she turns, then buy it.

    Just a small update:

    Picked up the compressor yesterday. Haven't been able to do anything but take off the belt cover and turn the compressor by hand. But it was easy to do. So that's a good sign.

    after you stand your compressor up , give it a day for the oil to drain back to the sump before you start it up
