    Bowl from One Board (BoB)

    My first BoB! Curly hard maple. 12 1/2" wide, 7 1/2" high
    The veneer ring is jarrah and holly.
    I used BLO Minwax wipe on poly biel buffed.

    It looks like you got everything out of the board that was possible! That is a fairly large piece using this technique. Nice work!

    Thanks for the great comments. It was a challenge doing a bob this big. The wall is just under 3/16" and the bowl flexes real easy. The first 2 veneer ring glue ups were black and white dyed veneer commonly used in segmented turning. For some reason the black layer kept breaking so I used jarrah and holly which were tougher woods. After 3 restarts I was really worried about ring alignment at the top.
