    recent turning

    Elm bowl, 8" diameter, 4 1/2" high, 5" opening with Myrtle lid. 1 3/4" under cut rim approx. 1/4" thick. Mineral oil and Bee's wax finish. Seldom post due to difficulty with staying logged in. C & C welcome.wdwk0192.jpgwdwk0194.jpgwdwk0193.jpg

    Very nice! I like the sharp edge of the bowl repeated in the top knob. The myrtle is great, and being large, I like that it has only subtle contrast with the elm. Hope you get your connection problems sorted out, would like to see more of your work.

    Hope you can fix that Allan, your stuff is great to ponder...sure love that elm. The lid is great on it's own!

    That's a neat looking piece, Allan. I like the crisp edge you chose for the main form... It's a nice change from the norm. I hope you get your computer woes sorted out so you can share more.

    Allan, I really like the form and the wood selection. I look at your piece and something comes to mind. Ponder this: another elm bowl like this with a dyed burgandy myrtle lid. The contrast might be very striking.

    Thanks for the comments, would be great to actually get to meet you guys. Been making tops and small eggs that I hope to sell at the local Prospectors Days Jun 10 & 11.
