Grizzly G0555 Bandsaw Cutting Capacity With Riser Installation

Considering the purchase of a Grizzly G0555 Band saw with 6 inch riser. With a riser installation the cutting capacity is increased from 6 inches to 12. For those that have this setup what is the maximum hardwood thickness (Red Oak) that I can expect to cut.

Maybe I'm confused....but 12"? Or are you asking for the distance between the blade and the cast iron frame?

Scott, it is as advertised; I just installed mine. You need 105" blades, and the saw can cut up to 12". I just cut some 11" thick green oak bowl blanks. The blade tracked fine and the saw did not bog in the slightest. I did move slowly, though.

I was refering to the verticle distance from table to blade guard not the horizontal throat distance from blade to cast bandsaw arm.
