    Prayer request

    Hello,

I've been a member of this forum for a long time, but this is the first time that I've ever asked for prayers. Our daughter has been diagnosed with cancer, and she's undergoing treatment. I know that prayer is important, so I humbly ask for your prayers for her.

    Her name is Laura.

    Thank you,

    Louis

    Louis,
The time immediately after diagnosis is a tough one. When I was diagnosed in 2004 fear clouded my judgment.

After the initial diagnosis did you seek consults from other doctors? Have you visited the oncology centers to discuss success rate or care standards? One of the things I did wrong was that I didn't thoroughly assess all of my options. This is important as the patient has to know that he/ she has chosen the best option because it takes significant commitment to carry-out surgery, chemo, or radiation therapy.

I had a very agressive non-hodgins which required surgery and five months of chemo. I've been cancer free for seven years. Life is wonderful on the _other_ side of chemo.

    Louis,

As firm believers, we will lift up Laura, you and your family, and those attending her in prayer. Would you mind sharing the town, state and last name with us. If you prefer, you might send it to me as personal message. For me, I've had a melanoma, hairy cell leukemia, and a touch of less dangerous skin cancer. I've been there - I believe in prayer!

Consider it done! My wife has been battling Breast Cancer for the past 13 months, is finally out the far end, and we know that prayer works. The quality of the Dr and support staff make a huge difference. LOML was lucky to have some of the best working on and for her. But most of all, prayer makes the biggest difference. Keep a good attitude and the chin up. Jim.
