Trying to identify a Dayton Motor

I am in the process of identifying the motor that come with my lathe. It is a Dayton motor but the label has been scratched right across the model number.

    _ _ 224B
Not sure about how many Letters/numbers before the 224B. The second letter could be a "K" or an "R" but the only thing visible is diagonal leg. There are some other numbers on there related to the capacitor and the EL rating. I have researched both of those to a dead end.

One last number on the label references has:
    _ TR REF 5KCR39QN22HX

    The discription of the motor:

    3/4 HP 1725 RPM 115/230 Voltage FLA 11.0/5.5
    FR 56 HZ 60 PH1 KVA Code J
INS B Max AMB 40C Duty CONT
    SF 1.25 SFA 12.0/6.0 BR_S SLEEVE

It has dual capacitors. I tried to take a picture but my camera batteries died.

Any help would be appreciated but please don't tell me the obvious.

I did locate a 6K244 motor but it was 1/3 HP so I don't know where to look.

Dayton is currently Grainger's house brand...if no one else pipes up, give their tech services a call. They are usually pretty helpful, account or not.

+1 on calling Grainger. I haven't found may motor manufacturing sites to be mych help for older motors. Seems like they only have recent models.

If you have no luck put in all of the motor specs and find a model on the site that matches up. The differences will be minor and you can use the manual as a guide should you need it.

What do you plan to use the motor for? It appears to be a fairly common standard dual voltage motor from all the spec's you quote.

  6. Hi Doug,

According to the 1996 grainger catalog I have (yeah its old) it is a 3k224

specs may have changed, but back then it was
    1725 rpm
    56 frame
    auto thermal protect
    115/230 volts
    11.6/5.8 amps
    1.25 SF
    sleeve bearing
    Class B insul
    Cradle mount

this may or not be the similar to what you have
