Grizzly G8689 Mini Milling Machine info needed

Has any one experience with this machine? I found one literally new in box locally for $400 which is a considerable savings over new. Nothing other than the machine itself. Is this a toy or functional piece of machinery? I plan on replacing a aging drill press and hopefully learn some basics about milling and producing some light gunsmithing work, model making, etc. I plugged it in and it seems to runs fine, looks like there's a couple of hours of cleaning the reddish grease off before using it. Any suggestions on use or if it's a decent piece of equipment? I have not purchased it yet.

    Howard,
Thanks for the input and link. It's tough to find good information on this machine as very similar type mini mills are out there although with small but important design changes.

    Thanks,
    Mac

    Mac,

That is a good little milling machine. I have had one for several years. I recently upgraded to a mine to belt drive. I posted a video on youtube if you are interested.

    Bill,
I know this is a bit late although thanks for your feedback, unfortunately the mill was sold couple days after I looked at it. It was brand new, I just needed more info before pulling the trigger. Thanks for the video link also, I enjoyed watching both segments.

goood! Is there any way for Autofill to select a Form Fill Profile based on something it could
determine in my environment? I use a couple different machines and would like
one profile to be the 'default' in one environment and another in the other machine.
Possibly the Windows User name? Or the browser? Or something I could set in each machine.
