    Anyone using Amana V-Tip inserts?

I just came across some Amana CNC tooling that uses v-tip inserts.

They may have been around for a while, but new to me. I remember the big CNC and lathes using inserts for decades. These are even available in 1/4" shanks.

So, does anyone have experience with these?

    Steve.

I have these inserts it is a nice set for fine engraving. Door plaques, small box tops. It would not be the best for deep engraving, signs etc.

Do you think these could be used for PCB isolation routing? Who sells them?

They would be ideal for that kind of work (single layer boards only . You can get them most anywhere that has Amana. I got them through Charles Schmidt, Briggs has it, and I think they are on Amazon as well.

Why single layer boards only. Here is one I made with a
cheap $20 vbit. It is a dual layer board (top and bottom traces.)

It just looked like I could get more precision with the Amana sets.
