Level? Level only matters when building houses. You want it flat and supported so it doesn't rock (shims, wedges, etc.) but there is no need to level it. Put a level on your machines, they are probably not level if they are sitting in a garage.
Level isn't important but it sounds like the bench is wobbling because the legs aren't all touching the ground. If he can fix that and get level at the same time why not?
I'd go with the shims with brads approach or adjustable feet with rubber pads. That way if you ever move it to a new location re-shimming is pretty easy and it won't slide around on you.
One purchase helps keep HF in business, the other helps keep LV in business.
