I think its quite a bit of overkill for my operation, but it was pretty and cost $1200.00 so I took a chance.

Keep a close eye on your pets. And small children.

Just out of curiosity, what kind of power is required to drive a 30HP motor? 480V 3PH?

30hp motor would be 3phase 480v and would be around 40amps

I have noticed that used big cyclones are cheaper than new 3-5hp cyclones...

DOes a cyclone that larger fall under the category of industrial dust collection, such that proper grounding requirements must be adhered to and subject to inspection?

I'd consider the price an absolute steal! It appears in really nice condition also.

Are you going to use it as a mobile unit and pull it around the shop from machine to machine??
A bus station is where a bus stops. A train station is where a train stops. My desk is a work station.

He would not need to move it from machine to machine. Duct work would not be required in a one-man shop!

Hook it up to the house too. Tell the wife she now has central vac system.

And don't worry about any neighbors complaining about the noise. You won't be able to hear them talk.

Open the windows and turn it on, all the dust will be sucked out of the shop in a few seconds. Air cleaner, shop vac, and dust collector in one!

And if the windows aren't opened the shop/house will collapse!
