Thread: T&G Pine project ideas

    Question T&G Pine project ideas

I'm just getting back into woodworking after 8 years away and just tuned up my table saw so I'm itching to get started on a project. Unfortunately, I just found out this morning I have to replace the gas tank on my truck which will eat up my wood shopping money for a while. I do have tons (several hundred linear feet) of 1" x 6" tongue and groove pine leftover from when our house was built. Any project ideas for this stuff?

    Thanks,

    Aaron

Might make good backs for "box" projects like cabinets, pie safes, hutches...

I've used T&G Pine to make rustic cabinets. Just glue the parts together in the T&G. Or if you want something a little less rustic, you can use your new saw to rip off the tongues and groves and make up panels.

Just remember to allow for expansion of the wood with humidity.

Thanks guys. It just dawned on me that I could make up panels of the t&g using a z brace like on a fence gate. This would help keep the panel square then I could build some shop cabinets.
