    Cherry baby rattle

Haven't done much turning since breaking my elbow back in February. This is my first real project in many months. It is an offset-turned and carved whale baby rattle made from 10/4 cherry filled with brown rice and rubbed with BLO. Thanks for looking...

Very nice work, Christopher - unique idea (or, at least, I haven't see one like it!) and well executed, too.

Thanks all. This rattle was made for my sister's baby. The concept came from a "discussion" that me and SWMBO had. Let's just say I'm motivated by challenge. I have made maybe a dozen or so unique rattles for friends and family members, but this one really required the most work in terms of shaping. I wasn't going for realism, more representation. I'm pretty pleased.
