Thread: 5/16" Forstner Bit - Source?

    I'm still quite a fan of these:

    $200 gets you 31 carbide-tipped Forstner bits.

    This was sort of an extravagant purchase for me.

    These aren't initially as sharp as the best HSS bits out there. But the carbide on these doesn't dull (at least in a hobby shop) and they don't get hot, either. I've run gobs of 1" holes in hard maple and then handled the bit and it is only warm to the touch.

    Check the third set down. I bought them to supplement my regular MLCS set. They're not Famag, but they work fine for my purposes.
