    Handcarved cherry bombe cocktail table

I just finished this commisioned table. It's 52" square and 20" tall. The sides and drawer fronts are bookmatched curly cherry veneer. The top is a four-way matched cherry burl veneer. Secondary wood is poplar and the drawers are soft maple.

    enjoy

    Brian,

It's guy like you who make guys like me happy that at least I can start my chainsaw---for rustic craftsmanship ie: firewood!! This is simply fantastic!!! I REALLY like it.

Brian, when you build a top like this, how do you assure that the veneer is flush with the lumber surrounding it?

Jamie, I run a 1/4" groove around the pieces, and use a snug fitting spline for alignment. It still takes a little fussing and sweating during the glue up to get perfect.

    Thanks for the compliments everyone.
