Cheap brass cleaner

Too lazy and cheap to run to the store for Brasso, I googled and found this receipe. All the better since Heloise is a North Texas gal:

That's what I've been using the clean brass since, like, forever. I think my mom showed me? I'm not sure I've ever actually had much brass to clean, but it's one of those random things I remember from growing up.

I like "homemade" cleaning products whenever possible, simply because I get tired of having a million bottles of random products living under the sink that get used maybe once a year if that.

Bingo! That's why I can't bring myself to buy a bottle of Brasso. Other than saw nuts, I don't know what I'd ever use it on again.

Yes, I love home-brew cleaners, and I bet cleaning products mfrs hate Google!

Brasso stinks, but I'd take that smell over the smell of ketchup any day. I HATE ketchup. I'd sooner put brasso on my hamburger.

I love homemade cleaners. I have some brasso around and hate the ammonia smell. White vinegar is amazing stuff, there's about 101 things it does better than commercial cleaners. Its also good for a lot of little home remedies.

Anyway, hadn't seen this one before, so glad you shared.

Thanks for the tip! Brasso sure does stink, so I'll have to try this tip once mine runs out. I seem to have been doing a lot of restoring lately.
