    Finishing breadboards ends

I am working on a 36" wide kitchen table with breadboards ends which I would like to finish with waterlox, but I'm afraid seasonal movement will crack the finish. The ends will be secured with 3 pegs that go completely through the top, so finishing separately will not be an option. Ideas?

You really have to just finish it and let it be what it is.
The wood is going to move just as you already know.
I consider these kinds of things to be a feature of hand-made objects rather than a detraction.
