    Cracked Corien Pen

Just got a sample of corien in & was working on my 3rd pen this evening. Finished 2 of them Sunday evening. Was getting ready to start sanding this one down & noticed a crack near the barrel area of the pen. Decided I didn't really want to toss out this blank. So took the skew & started cutting out the cracked area. So pulled it off the lathe & decided to change direction with the pen. Decided it needed a new nib area. Found a dark grey piece of corien that seemed like it would blend in. Did a quick glue up & then finished turning it.

Really nice pens Billy. I like the grey. If you hadn't said anything nobody would have known.

Like Bernie said - if you hadn't said anything, I would not have known. It just looks like a design feature. Also, I like your pen stand - simple but effective.

Great save on that one Billy. Some times the best comes after we have to remake something. I like it a lot.
