    Lightbulb SawmillCreek CHAT!!

    New Chat added to Sawmill Creek!

    Hello everyone,

    In an effort to make chat more convenient and accessible to everyone, I've added a new chat system to SawmillCreek. This new system replaces the old IRC-based chat with a web-browser based chat. Those behind firewalls will have a much easier time using this service, which is integrated directly into the forums. No Java Required!

    Additionally, you all will have the option of creating your own chat rooms, so you can carry on multiple discussions.

    Try it out! (Look next to the Log Out button to enter chat)

    NOTE: This system may not work in all browsers. If it doesn't work, simply post your OS and browser version in this thread.

    NOTE: You will need to turn off any popup blockers for SawmillCreek. (We don't have popups anyway!)

    Aaron;

    Suggestion for improvement:

    Where there are more that two in the chat room the ability to click on a name and have your comments identified as going to that person would be helpful.

    Thanks

    Richard,

    There is a certain "chat paradigm" that goes along with internet chatting. Anything posted in the public window is usually "addressed" to everyone, but if you want, you can privately send messages by clicking on a user's name. Alternatively, you can create additional rooms with a smaller constituency.
