I got a 690 on CL for $50 practiclly brand new...

a former professional cabinetmaker gave me a great piece of advice for those of us with multiple "router bit holders": build a series of small boxes near your work table so that you can just pull them out and use them.

Be very careful, this is a slippery slope......

I have about thirty routers, but I have somewhere North of three hundred router bits, so you see how this idea could become a problem.

Speaking of new routers I was about 90 miles away from the shop the other day and needed another router so I went to the Borg [don't tell] and bought a $50 Ryobi. It has headlights! What a cool idea. Router sucks, but those headlights were awesome.

I know what you mean Larry. I bought a lot of stuff from an older man who had a part time cabinet shop. Among the items I got from him were about 120 router bits, many never used, some in the packaging. As I remember, I paid about $150 for the whole batch. A lot of Amana, CMT, and Freud bits, but most were Rockler. Several sets too, like the Instile adjustable set, and also four various sizes and patterns of rosette cutters, unused. I think those alone were north of $50 each.

One of these days I am gonna go through all of these and let go of some of my many duplicates, a couple raised panel sets, pattern bits etc. I will never use them all.....just a hobbyist.
