    Came across this light.

This is a loading dock light system that I thought might light up the lathe quite nicely. Every loading dock light I've seen in the past was 2 or 3 times the price but it should make an excellent lathe light and reasonably priced..

    Looks familiar....

I picked mine up on Craigslist for $40. Works great and with a 150 watt bulb it does not put out too much heat....

I just saved that in my favorites. I love that. Now I just have to justify the price since I will need two...

Dang. That's quite a deal... And two 40" arms? You could position that thing anywhere (if you have walls)...

Awesome timing! Great find. I'm just dealing with lathe lighting right now and hadn't found the solution. Until now!! For all those with no walls.....duh! use the ceiling! long arms, no issues. Thanks.

I really like this one: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/90214214/It's bright, compact, and has a super-flexible goose neck. I can practically stick the light inside the bowl as I'm turning.

Holy Crap! Nobody buy this item I linked! It doesn't specify the arm length so I contacted the company. The arms are NOT included!!!! The original poster, Bill, had found a better buy.
