I had to see what that looked like so I found the CL link. No pictures though! I wonder what that thing weighs!?
Bill
At .283 lbs/sq inch that sucker weighs about 815 lbs. Overkill? lol

I started with absolutely nothing. Now, thanks to years of hard work, careful planning, and perseverance, I find I still have most of it left.
Don't forget the routers, base and fences, Scott.

Wonder what shipping costs would be to Atlanta?
When I started woodworking, I didn't know squat. I have progressed in 30 years - now I do know squat.
It might be cheaper to ship Atlanta. :>
I've love to see a picture of the beast.
- After I ask a stranger if I can pet their dog and they say yes, I like to respond, "I'll keep that in mind" and walk off
- It's above my pay grade. Mongo only pawn in game of life.
I hate to say it, but the USPS would just mangle that thing, stuffing it into my mailbox, anyway.
Shame, huh ?
He's no fun. He fell right over !
I e-mailed the guy, asking for pics. No answer yet. Wonder what 815# of steel is worth. Maybe I could quit my night job of stripping copper wire from Little League fields.

I was thinking about stealing a manhole cover to use as a top for my next router table. Heck, if they can take the weight of a loaded semi trailer, should b able to take a few bits of 4/4 lumber without sagging. And they already have the hole in the center, so that part is done. Perhaps it can be mounted over a 55 gal barrel to act as both a stand and chip collection? If I get it blanchard ground they can both flatten it and take off that nasty "Property of Municipal Sewer Dept." tag, so two birds there. Should pretty much reduce the vibration? I'm looking for one of those really BIG manhole covers, like a 40"-50" diameter. I pretty much have one picked out, I just need to get the boom installed on my truck to lift it and build a gantry in my shop to place it. Maybe I can replace the cover with one made of IPE so no vehicles are damaged? I don;t want to create a public nuisance.....
Peter..........Dude
You've given that scam waaay to much thought.
