This weekends Stanley finds, not so rusty

I picked up some nice Stanley's this weekend.

A beautiful No 3 Type 18 sharp and ready to use for $10.
A nice No 3 Type 11 partial crack in the tote but otherwise only a bit of surface rust for $5.
A Very good, just needs sharpening, No 80 cabinet scraper with the two 1914 Pat. dates and triangular logo for $10.

I am very happy to get these.

Careful if you try to take apart the scraper. Oil the pin good before you try to take it out. I tried it and I broke the piece.

Everything is good on the scraper, all the screws are finger tight and go in and out easily.

I'd love to congratulate you, but you know the rules ...
without pictures, it's just another "fish story"

My camera rolled snake-eyes this week so I am using my CHEAP cell phone to get a couple of shots of the planes and scraper. Don't want this to be a "fish story". Also the No 3 type 11 is a 3C. I quickly tested the 3C and it does a slick job of stripping paint off a board .

Congrats and thanks for those pictures Larry - not bad for a cheap cell phone - and you do know I didn't really doubt you, right?

  9. Jealous! Congrats on the finds.

Thank you kindly for the pics. Now, it gives me great pleasure to tell you unashamedly and unreservedly that you suck.

This find is a serious gloat worthy event.

Several "You suck!" awards will be issued despite turning me green.

    Lucky devil!

+1 on the envy and the "you suckage."

Wish I could find some more of that around here.

WAHHHHH! Taking off paint with a nice #3?
Oh, can I have the scraper since you'll probably use it for some other ugly task?
    Jokin'!!!
    Good find.

On the other hand, I still have five fingers.
