Has anyone tried this? Seems like a good alternative for a second vise to a bench...?

Looks like it could be a useful product on some benches.

Almost looks like it was tailor made to spiff up that New Fangled workbench one of the mags came out with (think it was FWW).
It looks OK, but I don't like the release button being in between the vise faces. I'd adapt a Pony pipe clamp.
When I built my bench I wanted what was essentially a twinscrew vise so I could have very long jaws. Without spending the bucks for a true twinscrew mechanism. So I built the vise on the side of my bench and use 3/4" pipe clamps that are suspended under the bench and span it. I didn't waste time building an auto release, and I don't leave the clamps in unless I'm using it. Has worked very well the times I've used it, and I would imagine a purpose built job like that would be real handy; and a pair would be even better.
