Thread: So I needed a tool...

    So I needed a tool...

...to reach into a slot in an extrusion and provide leverage to help snap plastic over it. It helped that I have a bunch of Acetal sheet floating around.

It doesn't look like much but I thought I'd share another use for the laser.

The empty hole is in case I need to insert a pin.

I design, engineer and program all sorts of things.

Oh, and I use Adobe Illustrator with an Epilog Mini.

So is acetal generally the best bang for the buck when lasering high strength parts? Or is PC, nylon, UHMW more commonly chosen?

I don't know about "bang for the buck" since it's not exactly cheap but it laser cuts great and is self lubricating. Every plastic has it's place.
