    Lizard Cane

I finally finished this and got a few pictures taken. I started this a couple of weeks ago and wasn’t sure if I wanted a natural finish or a full color realistic paint job. In the end, I decided to go with the natural color of the pear. I love the color of the wood! It seems to give an almost bronze appearance to the carving. It still looks real enough to get a few double-takes even without the color. This is from Bradford Pear that I picked up on a neighborhood walk, Thanks for looking!

That is fantastic! Very realistic. Do you have a picture showing the whole cane so we can see where the lizard is positioned?

Here you go! It is really difficult to get good pictures of a cane, but it's approximately 38" tall.

Great carving job!! Very nice design. I grew up in Jacksonville a little north of you. I miss the trees.

Very nice. I like walking sticks. It's a great way to bring your craft with you all the time.

My 6 year old looked at that and said "That looks real Dad. Right?"
That is fantastic. I've had in the back of my head a plan to make a snake walking stick at some point. I can't even hope for something this great.

    Gorgeous!

You picked a great piece of wood, and produced such nice detail on the skin, mouth and eyes. Well done!
