    Revised finial

Here's a revised one not yet dyed a bit taller 2 7/8" H and much thinner 5/32" D at the base of the finial. Overal dimmensions 11 7/8" H now still needs to be dyed but thought I'd see what you think?

Looking better!...I think that when most of us start turning finials we tend to make them too fat. IMO, a finial usually wants to look a bit delicate without being fragile. Your balance is good. The rule of thirds works, and this one appears to be about 1/3rd the height of the vessel.
