NE Base #2 for the NE Bowl

I went in a little different direction tonight for a base for the ne bowl.
A much simpler base, basically just a slice off of a log with a depression turned in the center. The depression worked out just right so the bowl can be positioned in just about any orientation (I like it tilted way over).
It's not classy, elegant or refined, but I kinda like it and I think it fits fairly well with the form. I may still work on some other bases, but I think this one will be in the running.

I think I like this one better. Only other alternative I can think of is a hollowed sphere I saw where it was hollowed out off center and not hollowed all the way out, leaving it unbalances, so when sitting on a flat surface, it would lean to one side with the hollowed hole off to the side. Don't remember where I saw that though.

  3. That one doesn't do much for me..............certainly does not show off your considerable skill, Kathy. I think another version is in order and you will nail this in short time!

I like the idea... but for my tastes would like to see the base made out of slice that is closer to the diameter of the base of the bowl. To me - that would add to the overall curve and not appear as a slice of log. JMO. Have fun with it!!

I like it Kathy better than the first.

Very nice, I like this one. It is very different but works with this bowl.
