    Hot glue

Has anybody ever used hot glue to seal end grain on fresh cut wood. I have a tone of the hot glue sticks and i rarely use it at all. just wondering if it work for that.
Grandpa always told me. "A good woodworker is not one that makes no mistakes. A good woodworker is one who knows how to cover up his mistakes."

I have not used it in the way you're talking about, but I have used it often on the end grain of roughed out bowls where I notice little checks forming. It has done a good job keeping them from expanding, so I suppose that it would be a decent sealer. If you have it them to waste, worth a go. Probably not the quickest or most economical way to seal though.

Never used hot glue for that purpose. Seems like it would be a little pricey.
