It has been a story for a while. While caution reigns supreme, there are a lot of legit resources aimed at fixing this one.

Google has been offering a "public service" in that they automatically check your machine for the virus when you do any search. if they think you machine is infected you will get notice on screen.

I checked the story with my antivirus provider, Vipre's website. (google it, and I HIGHLY recommend Vipre). It appears the link is legit... Of course if your computer has a problem you had better check out the link before Monday. Vipre has protected against th malware, check to see if your antivirus has done the same!
Personally, I'd like to knock millions off the internet.
there is a web site setup to check if you have the virus it is www.dns-ok.us it was set up by the FBI to check and see if your browser will go to the correct web site.
Why does this remind me of the Y2K hype?
These things usually start with people being naughty and going to sites they shouldn't have... and then they spread it around with links on Facebook and other social media.
