I need to help a friend

I have a friend who's father has passed away and he has a large shop in Michigan. The problem is that we live in Georgia so he can't sell the tools on graigslist. Is there a used tool dealer that would buy the shop and sell the tools or is there a better way to go about this. Any suggestions or if anybody has contacts in Michigan that might help would be greatly appriciated.

I'm in Charlotte, MI and would be happy to help with any hand tools. I know next to nothing about power tools, however.

Try Pete Valiton at Electric Tool in Ann Arbor. He does consignment sales of tools and equipment. 734.995.1111. Insist on speaking with Pete.

Has the family thought about an auction? The ones I've been to around here either do entire estates, or will bring things to their shop and auction out of there once a month. I've come to notice (at least here) that on larger items, they will do some research for a starting price. Last one I went to had a 17 Speed DP where he started the bidding at $50 and it went up to $350. Also, there was a JET planer that he started at $75 and it ended up going for $295.

the nice thing about an auction is everything gets sold in one day so no wasting time with having stuff left over to get dumped.

His dad's house is in Roscommon, MI. He is about 30min from West Branch and Grayling, and about 75 min from Saginaw/Bay City, 90 minutes from Traverse City, MI. Thank you for all the replies I think the auction idea might work but we are going to explore every option.

Never, under any circumstances, consume a laxative and sleeping pill, on the same night
