    Agazzani is moving to Germany!

The following email is in reply to a question I asked Jesse over at Eagle Tools about Agazzani's new owners.
    Jesse said it all.

    Hi Roger,

In response to your question about Agazzani in Italy:

The reputable German company, PANHANS, has recently purchased AGAZZANI.
For years, Panhans has been the distributor for Agazzani in Germany.
Now Panhans will produce these bandsaws in their own factory along
with the other high quality woodworking machines Panhans has been making
    for over 60 years.

I am encouraged to know that Panhans intends to continue the Agazzani tradition
by building the bandsaws following the original factory materials and specifications.
Panhans personnel spent several days in training in Italy at the Agazzani factory.

Mr. Carlo Agazzani started making bandsaws in Italy in 1938. After his death,
family members continued to guide the work at Agazzani. The era of the
family owned Agazzani factory began coming to a close upon the
death of Mr. Carlo Agazzani’s wife, a few months ago.

Note: The old Agazzani factory in Carpi, Italy is being closed (liquidated)
because the manufacturing is being transferred to Germany where Panhans
    has their own manufacturing facility.

Panhans always made good stuff so all is not lost. Does anyone here keep track of euro companies? Seems that Panhans had stopped production some time ago and only recently started up again. Same company, same owners, new owners, restructuring? Dave

    Dave,
Panhans was bought by the clamp company R Beck a while back. They displayed at Fensterbau this year. One of the sales people mentioned they are working on a simple high quality German made shaper to add to the line. It would make sense Panhans would continue with the bandsaws. They had nice guides and some other aftermarket stuff they added to the saws. There used to be a Panhans Safety Catalogue. I don't know if this is still around.

Joe, there was an older 684 slider for sale a while ago that really tempted me. I've seen Ex Factory advertise their machines but are they supported here? Dave

    Ken, Joe & David,
Regarding the Company's "family tree" this was a copy of the second email from Jesse,,,,,,,,

    Hi Roger,

As I understand it, HOKUBEMA is the company name.
PANHANS is the brand of German woodworking machines they make.
And, HOKUBEMA is a division of BECK.

    Thanks and best regards,

Will Jesse at Eagle continue to represent Panhans and will Panhans expand their presence in the US? Dave
