    Molding Design

I'm looking for some help locating good resources for molding design. I have some picture frames to make and, while I will probably alter them to make them my own, I need some help figuring out a design or two that I would base it on. Is there a website somewhere that shows a bunch of sizes and profiles? Or maybe a book that shows designs as well as tips and tricks? I really could use the help...

    +2 on Matt Bickford's stuff.

    His planes are excellent.
    His knowledge encyclopaedic.

He's also accessible in a classroom setting.
I highly recommend taking a course prior to buying a set.

You'll quickly get a feel for what you're likely to use most.

+another 1 for Matt's book. I just read that. Nice little book.

If you check out your favorite bookseller, or Amazon, or your library, there are lots of books on classic furniture/moulding designs. Reprints of The Cabinet-Maker's Director by Chippendale or similar books for various styles can be found pretty cheaply, and contain lots of designs and drawings of classic mouldings.

Another thing that comes to mind is the George Walker DVD available from Lie-Nielsen.

    Mark, thanks for the link.
