I started this is a previous thread, but I am looking for any input from people knowledgeable with FlashCut CNC on benchtop Mills. I'm considering a 3 axis stepper system for my Smithy Granite 1340.

I have the a Torchmate Router and the software is made by Flashcut. I have not used it much yet but it seems fairly easy to understand. The only thing I see is the software is specific to Flashcut, no 3rd party stuff. The Flashcut or Torchmate accessories are very expensive. If I ever do change out it will be for a system that supports Mach 3 for this very reason. Check out a company called C and CNC, they have 3 axis systems that are plug and play starting at $725.

I have flashcut controlling on all my machines. It is very easy to use and will except DXF files from any program.
easier controlling of bit placement than most other programs.

Upgraded to FlashCut 4 for my Sherline benchtop mill. Use Aspire for the creation of the toolpaths. Works great.
