Thread: What do all the abbreviations mean??

What do all the abbreviations mean??

I'm trying to read different threads on here to learn but I keep getting hung up with all the abbreviations and not getting certain info from the replies. For example, on another thread talking about acclimation of wood to its environment, humidity, and other things I saw the abbreviation MC and I have no idea what that meant. Is there a list somewhere on here that will explain it??

Duane, I have the the same problem. Most of the time I figure it out, but "YMMV" had me completly stumped. I couldn't stand it anymore and finally googled it this morning. YMMV = "your mileage may vary".

I get even more confused when only tool model numbers are referred to, e.g., "should I get the GO690 or the 36L336".

I started with absolutely nothing. Now, thanks to years of hard work, careful planning, and perseverance, I find I still have most of it left.

Scott, even that is a sanitized version of the original.

Wait a minute...you mean those abbreviations actually mean something ? I always thought they were typos and just glossed over them. Thanks men, this sheds a lot of light for me now.

Well, WC seems to add a whole dimension to the abbrev. thing. Why would WC stand for Tungsten Carbide?

You would really be screwed if you got into texting with the kids/grandkids.

I think Tungsten is Wolfrom in German.
