    Wanted, Norris sellers

I am looking for a Norris panel plane in user condition, not pristine mint in box. Ebay, "by it now" bs is useless, anybody know of any dealers or leads? I've been out of the loop for a few years, so my sources are outdated.

    Thanks!

Although his descriptions are over the top ("awesome", "spectacular", etc) and so it's buyer beware regarding condition, I was happy with a purchase of a few tools including an infill shoulder plane from Jim Bode http://www.jimbodetools.com/ .

For the cream of the crop and with descriptions that I understand go out of their way to point out flaws is The Best Things http://www.thebestthings.com/infill.htm. (no experience with them ).

Or you could see what the response you get from a WTB ad here in the SMC Classifieds.

I don't see any listed today..
Try sending him an email and asking if he knows if there is a good seller in the UK ..

I have bought a couple of Norris' from Lee at The Best things and am happy with the purchases. Honest and decent people IMO.

Thanks gentlemen. I see the very usable post war model on "The Best Things", need to check out the UK source before the trigger gets pulled though.

I think I may know the truth about item B-101213 in the "best of things" listing. We have that same empty body casting in a tool chest in the collection in Williamsburg. I think this bare casting could be purchased and infilled by the user. The casting has little "ears" to hold the wedge in. A nice touch. The casting in Williamsburg was never finished up by the user.

That is very interesting George. I wonder who the manufacturer was? Looks like it made a very effective plane.
