I use water bottles for a few things. A small hole in the cap can control the amount of water that will drip out. Most of mine have to be squeezed to get any to flow. Experiment to find the size that works best for the purpose.
My favorite for a lot of things, particularly with my waterstones, are the bottles Huy Fong brand Sriracha sauce comes in. Don't need to squeeze the bottles to get water, but the screw-open cap-tip keeps it from just pouring out everywhere.
