    In search of; Upright Freezer

Looking to purchase a upright freezer for the basement for overflow, something between 5-7 Cubic feet. Everything I look at is made in China, is there anything I can purchase new, without supporting a Communist country?

    Thanks in advance,
    Mac

Not really. Too late. Better get Rosetta Stone Chinese so you'll be able to communicate with the new landlord.

Sunforst makes a smaller freezer in the USA, but it is the same width and depth as a standard refrigerator, just a lot shorter. Price is over $1,500.

We have a Sears upright in the laundry room. No issues. Keeps things frozen, no complaints with it. Not sure what else to say.

We just bought a Kenmore from craigslist. $150. I think its 3 or 4 years old. It's ok. We put it in our basement.

I was a little surprised my wife wanted a freezer. We've been married 35 years and this is the first time she's ever asked for additional freezer space. We've always made do with just a refrigerator.

We started buying our groceries from an Organic provider a few years back and they're 100 miles away. Our back up fridge/freezer died back in the summer so in order to only make a run every 12 weeks, we need something for the overflow so to speak.
    Thanks for the information.

There are a couple of websites dedicated to locating US made products. Here is one:

I followed one link and found a couple of freezers. I hope this helps you find something you're looking for.Freezer

I have no experience with USA made stuff but our Siemens Freezer is over 20 years old and still going strong. It's made in Germany so the "communist" tag doesn't apply. Obviously I don't know if Siemens appliances are sold in the US. They're pricier than most but in Europe they have a 7 year Guarantee.

    YMMV!
