    My 2012 Ornament

    Christmas Globe, 3" sphere...

  2. VERY nice! Is it hollowed? That is a very nice segmented piece......should look great on the family tree!

    It is hollow, the sphere is cut from layers from a single board. here is a pic of the layers...

    That's a really unique ornament, very nice, very clever to hav e thought of that design.

    Boy that is a great ornament. I am always amazed at folks that have taken the time to learn how to turn a real sphere! I can only muster the right half (while on the lathe). The left half ends up getting oblonged!

    I could easily see a tree covered in these or a variation of these. Great job.

    Scott, if you ever get a chance to see a Jerry Kermode demo, he teaches a method for hand cutting spheres.
    Me, I made a jig...

    That is really neat! The circle jig is almost as cool as the ornament!

    Great looking ornament Larry. Like how you got the pattern . Seen the video on Facebook and you made it look easier than I first thought. Did you make your jig from plans?
