George Wilson stated sometime back that he used high power reading glasses when he sharpened and or set saw teeth.
I found some about +3.25 readers a few months back and bought them.
Today I was using my Lynx 10" straight handled 18 tpi (I think, I haven't counted them). It was binding in the cut, so I put on the readers and was able to sharpen and set the saw.
I had sharpened the saw to rip when I got it.
When George tells you something, we probably need to heed his advise.
I used Frank Klauz's screwdriver setting technique.
