    Drug Store Readers

George Wilson stated sometime back that he used high power reading glasses when he sharpened and or set saw teeth.

I found some about +3.25 readers a few months back and bought them.

Today I was using my Lynx 10" straight handled 18 tpi (I think, I haven't counted them). It was binding in the cut, so I put on the readers and was able to sharpen and set the saw.
I had sharpened the saw to rip when I got it.

When George tells you something, we probably need to heed his advise.

I used Frank Klauz's screwdriver setting technique.

    Try it.

That's what I need to read....damn hard to find and yes it is a lot easier to sharpen a saw if you can see the points and gullets :-).

I use dental loupes for the really small saw teeth. I don't wear glasses, but I use 2x readers in my welding helmet when I'm doing small TIG welding, so I can get my face real close, and the bead takes up a much larger part of the field of view. If I flip the welding hood up to look at someone talking to me, I almost fall over until I think to remove the glasses.
