    Large American Chestnut bowl

    Here is the first of the bowls I roughed out of the chestnut. Finished turned it tonight. Came out 14" across and 6" tall. Just has 1 coat of oil on it so far.

  6. Gotta love that grain in chestnut.......that reminds me, I have a few pieces of chestnut that I need to get to! Nice bowl Sparky!

    Thanks all! I went down and put another coat of finish on this morning. Took a little better pictures before wiping it down. You could eat a lot of ice cream out of a bowl like that!

    That's a beauty Sparky. Love the grain. Looks like you have a lot of wood drying is the background of the 1st picture.
