Thread: Image transfer process

  1. #16
When I worked at a commercial graphics house we had many film and papers each had a profile that was monitered daily.
    I calibrated the process I was running 3 times a day for consitancy in output. ( I ran a 2 Durst Lambda's)

I still say if I was a company like say Conde, as they specialize in Dye Sub. They mainly sell Ricoh so that limits
the printer and ink sets. ran an ICC profile for the products they sell they would sell more. I will say though that means they
has to be some consistancy in the product then. I am not in an industry where I need Pantone matches, but I would
like more than one ICC profile for everything. At least make a profile or a printer that prints just Black so you don't get a
    dark sepia effect on images.

Chuck it seems you go back a bit in the Graphics Ind also I remember when the first programable color analyzers came out,
and if you got good at reading the films you could get within 10-15cc on a first test. I didn't mess with machine prints
just custom work so everything was done by hand.

Dang, now I feel really old.....
