Cool Work in progress - Complete "Torus II"

Work continued on my hollow torus. I'd already removed the recess on the first side and had to figure out a method to remove it on the other side. On the first one I did I was able to expand my chuck into the center opening. This one the center opening is significantly smaller so that wasn't an option. I ended up using a combination of stretch wrap, painters tape, my vacuum chuck, and a padded cone on my live center. It wasn't the ideal solution but I did manage to get it done with minimal fuss. I probably used more stretch wrap and painters tape but I couldn't risk ruining the piece at this point.

After removing the recess and giving it a good sanding the piece was complete and ready for some finish.

You must have nerves of steel. That had to be like cutting diamonds. Great accomplishment and looking good doing it.

Beautiful piece Jason! I hope you'll be bringing it to the next meeting, I'm sure it will look even better in person!

It will definitely be there, and possibly 1 or 2 more that I started working on yesterday.
