    Best panel layout software for free

    What are people using for free software to layout cut diagrams for 4x8 sheet goods? Does the software optimize or do you?

    I use Google SketchUp for my drawings. There is a a free plug in called cutlist out there. It will do sheet goods and lumber. I just built 4 base cabs with bookshelves on top, and all the shelving. I found it invaluable, and it's free.

    The cutlist plugin for SketchUp (which isn't Google anymore) is very handy but it doesn't do layout optimization. You would need to do that manually.

    There is free software called Cutlist (not Cutlist plus), but it is only for Window's. I tried to use it in Linux with WINE and no luck.
