    Delta Splitter - HELP...

    Hi ALl,
For all you who have purchased the Delta splitter...or those who would know...
There was a thread recently on how to install, but I ran across a problem that was not determined. My tablesaw is perfectly square & has always cut dead on straight throughout the cut. I removed the existing splitter assembly that came with the saw & set up the new splitter & installed with the 2 cap screws in the same holes in the trunion frame. So, the result of this is that the splitter is 1/16th off - to the left of my blade. There are no adjustments to make. I already tried to move the trunion, but the splitter mount moves with it. I had to re-square everything again. What's up with that!!??
Does anyone have the answer to this?
I have a right tilt contr.saw-(the Delta Grand White).
    Thanks,
    John

    Greg,

Thanks for your reply. I have the instructions & followed them precisely;however, the splitter piece sits into the holder & is 1/16th to the left side.I can't seem to figure out what else to do.
    Thanks,
    John

    John,
There should be 2 set screws on the front of where the splitter mounts that will allow for adjustments. If you have the same setup as I do on my saw. Here is a link to the manual, you need to look at page 14 for the splitter adjustments.

Tim Morton and I both recently installed that splitter and had no problems. It seems to me there was a little play prior to final snugging down.

    Only a 1/16" Can't you just bend it a little. That's what

I do on mine. Ideally you want the splitter right in the middle of the saw kerf or to the right. I bend mine all the time just to get it fine tuned again.
Alan T. Thank God for every pain free day you live.

  7. I don't know what splitter everyone has bought, but if its the one that costs $90 or so, I have an alternative for unisaw owners that is much more economical and easy to install, remove when necessary, and reinstall with one turn of the knurled handle. Its a part to the overhead uniguard, a splitter assembly, Delta Part No. 1349941, see the following link:

    Hi Greg,

    Thanks again for your response.
The 2 cap screws that attach the plate to the trunion are fixed 7 there is no adjustment. The splitter insert sits 1/16th to the left of the sawblade.I will check again to see if I missed something.

Jerry, I'm glad yours is working fine.

    Happy slicing.
