Help with Dye on Hard Maple Chair

I had never made a Windsor chair before.
Decided to make the Galbert Chair.
    Bought the plans.
Plans said I needed to be an expert.
    I wasn’t.
    This was my first mistake.
The second was to make all of it out of hard maple.
    Hard maple doesn’t bend easily.
Had to laminate the crest rail.
When I finished forming the crest rail, the glued laminations were
    showing through.
I was pleased with how everything turned out until I dyed it.
I used a Brown Mahogany transfast color. Mixed it ½ strength with distilled hot water.
The seat turned out blotchy and the pattern makes it look as though it
was a bad sanding job, but when the light source is at a different
    angle the pattern changes.
The glue line on the crest rail would not take stain.
I decided to bleach the seat and crest rail. The bleach was Calcium
Hypochlorite -1 tbsp. to a pint of hot distilled water.
I like the color on the rest of the chair.
I’m planning on using the Maloof Poly/Oil Finish over the stain.
I’m thinking that I need to make the seat & crest rail a solid color
    to match.

    Any suggestions?

I’ve tried to make my question as clear as possible with few words as
possible and still give all the details?

Attached are a few pictures (after bleaching) for clarity.
