That's a beauty, Dennis. Looks like a nice thin wall and luckily the bark stayed. Great job!

Nice bowl Dennis. I recently started back in turning. I was working on a walnut NE the other day. Well I didn't have a light enough touch. A big chunk of bark csme off. Now it is just a small bowl. Will get finished when I am over the flu.

Dennis nice job on the NE. Ash makes very nice NE bowls, love the color of the bark.

Nicely turned, great grain alignment and good job keeping the bark on. Being very nitpicky I might suggest the foot is a bit thick for my taste, but that's just my taste. Terrific turning!

Nicely centered. Did you have any troubles sanding. I offer get a washboard effect on ash and am looking for suggestions to avoid that.

I have to finish the wings with the lathe off or very slow, using a power sander.

I have never done a live edge with bark intact. This is very beautiful.

I have had the washboard effect and believe it comes from using worn-out sandpaper and/or too fine of a grit along with pressing too hard while sanding. Once you get a good surface with coarse grit, it should take only a little sanding with each finer grit.

Nice one Dennis! Can't wait to get home to my lathe and get some wood spinning again!
